Extended Learning Opportunities
A component of Law School Training, Extended Learning Opportunities allow Fellows to reinforce what they’ve learned while on program with through reflection and practical application. This may include learning now to network with lawyers, creating or editing a resume and cover letter, receiving advice on preparing for interviews and applying for internships, participating in mock trails, working on practice problems, or debating with the cohort on relevant public policy issues. These sessions aim to improve soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and collaboration, and give students a social advantage in law school and other legal environments, such as legal internships and paralegal positions.

81% of students completing the Lex Fellowship report progress on the American Bar Association’s core skills, values, knowledge and experience.
“You should seek courses and other experiences that will engage you in critical thinking about important issues, challenge your beliefs and improve your tolerance for uncertainty and criticism… Your law school experience will develop and refine those crucial skills, but you must enter law school with a reasonably well developed set of analytic and problem solving abilities.”
- American Bar Association
There is no better resource for law school success than a law school student, which is why our Legal Associates come from top law schools.
“Some programs use law professors to prep you for the 1L year which is of much less value because they often give students many of the same suggestions as their [future] law professors. Why pay twice for the same advice?”
